According to the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy, part of phase 1 of the Brooklyn Bridge Park should be done by the end of 2009. Two-thirds of the $47 million park will be open to the public by 2013. Last year 270,000 visitors from around the world came to the area where a temporary park space was opened.
