The Brooklyn Bridge Park Development Corporation is already two months behind on its construction schedule. Work was supposed to begin this month at Pier 1, the Brooklyn Bridge Plaza, and Pier 6. The City Department of Transportation (DOT) and state development agency are currently fighting over the Brooklyn Bridge Plaza, and it is unclear when that construction will begin. The delays raise serious doubts about the Development Corporation’s promise to open sections of the park by next fall.
